yep, it is garlic baby.  Pungent, flavorful, versatile, and super!  garlic is one of the easiest ways to bring your meals to a higher standard, and you can utilize it in so many things....soups, pastas, dips and spreads(hummus and pesto), roasted veggies, fish, meat, and poultry, baked egg dishes, and the list goes on and on!  you can saute it, roast it, eat it raw.  it has so many beneficial properties...contains allicin, which is an antifungal, as well as allium compounds, which are phytochemicals that lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels, and quercitins, which may reduce inflammation associated with allergies, plus many other antioxidants that have anti-cancer properties!  also, it is so cheap!!!  i recommend getting garlic bulbs instead of pre-minced garlic for a fresher flavor, but I recently heard that you should cut the garlic about 10 minutes before you add it to a recipe because the phytochemicals and antioxidants become more available to your body!  This week, i am using garlic every night!  ryan may have something to say about this at the end of the week, because he isn't quite as big of a fan as me, but he'll live, as long as dinner is ready when he gets home!!!  i got a one-pot wonder, a salmon and flatbread dish, porkloin with roasted garlic sauce, a braised chicken and olive dish (with garlic of course), and a pasta, which i hope to do another video demo for!!!  so follow along for a super flavorful super-food week!!!
