half a banana - we like to keep banana halves in the freezer.  peel a whole banana, half it, and place it on some foil in the freezer, no need to cover or contain!
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
3 large or 6-8 small frozen strawberries
any other frozen fruit you like, i added some mango
1/3-1/2 cup kefir
1/4 cup juice (we rotate between dark juices like cranberry/pomegranate and lighter juices like orange/mango)
1 scoop protein powder (whey or soy)
other add ins - 1 tbsp chia seeds, 1 tbsp ground flax seeds, 1 tbsp nutritional yeast, 1 cup spinach/kale leaves, 1 tbsp peanut butter (tastes like PB&J) , you could do coconut milk instead of kefir if you wanted it 100% lactose free.

i like to set my fruit out at room temp for about 15-20 minutes so it doesn't kill the blender!  you can also put the fruit in the blender in the fridge overnight and it should be perfect for a morning smoothie!

we use an unflavored whey protein isolate from BiPro.  we are in the affiliate program and sell it by the 2lb jug.

kefir is an excellent way to add creaminess to any smoothie and has tons of probiotics for gut health!

give all the ingredients a good spin in your blender...for a rich and creamy texture, let the vortex go for at least 30 seconds!

pour into a tall glass OR a large coffee thermos if you are on the run!

i like to enjoy it with a straw so nothing is wasted on the sides of the glass and i get almost every bit off the bottom!!!

what do you like to throw in a smoothie?
