so i thought i'd write a quick blog to catch ya up on my week!  it was decent.  sleep sucked at the beginning, but improved the last few days. i think i am ready to train super hard, so i will be exhausted at the end of the day and maybe i will get to sleep fast....that means under 30 minutes!  i am so jealous of my husband who can get to sleep within 2 minutes!  ok, so on to the training...
got all my weights in....some highlights....my trainer killed my legs again...we are really focusing on hamstrings and glutes and i can definitely feel it the next day.  you really have to concentrate on putting the focus on those areas and take it away from your quads....never just go through the motions....you gotta make that mind-muscle connection!   the best exercise combo from that session was sumo squats with a 100lb db super-set with hipups with my back on the yoga ball and a 35lb db on my hips, up and down, up and down....this is definitely an under-utilized/under-appreciated exercise and/or one that is typically done incorrectly or not with enough weight.  it also made a difference when nick(my trainer) said "ok, now hold it at the top for 5 seconds each rep!"  we are also trying to work my calves more often, they could use a bit more size.
friday, we did chest and triceps and abs, hard and heavy.  and today i did back on my own.  another trainer recommended an exercise that i hadn't done in forever...t-bar rows....man, those hit a wide spectrum of muscles on your back.  i will definitely be doing those again soon.  we don't have the actual apparatus at our gym, so i had to rig it up, but it worked very nicely.  i also decided to do the "super circuit" class with my clients today.  it was fun and interesting to see how hard it actually is.  it is more muscular endurance, which is a nice change of pace and something i must start incorporating more often because when true prep begins, i will be doing at least one day of circuit type training with weights.
on to tri training...thursday, i took off work again, this time i used some annual leave, and i went to the pool with ryan.  we experimented with my breathing since i have been having issues with dizziness afterwards.  instead of breathing to both sides each lap, i breathed to one side for 100 yards, then the other side for 100 yards.  i did a total of 1500 yards...300 warmup, 300 pulls, 6-100s(alternating easy and hard), 4-50s(harder each 50, the last 50 i did in 32 seconds), 100 cooldown.  i didn't feel as weird after, so i am going to stick to the new breathing technique.  it was a good swim workout, i felt strong!
i also went to run club thursday.  we did hill sprints after a warmup mile and tempo mile and i loved it!  i am definitely more of a short and fast chick.
tomorrow i will bike about 10-12 miles at stone mountain, which has some good hills.  haven't been on the bike in a while, i need a good workout and plan to get it!
about to go to my dad's to spend some quality time with family...we are not big into easter, but i will celebrate by eating candy and drinking wine!  let's just hope i don't drink too much!
that's all folks....have a great weekend!
this is what i am working on this week....
DON'T THINK YOU ARE, KNOW YOU ARE....
strong, fast, determined, loved, appreciated, a motivator, looked up to, patient, strong-willed, happy, someone who does the right thing.....

random thoughts...why do i watch "make me a supermodel" on bravo and why do i cry watching publix commercials!????
