Black Bean Burgers 

Black beans - 1 can, drained and rinsed 

Oats, rolled - 1/2 cup

Flax, ground - 2 tbsp

Cumin - 1 tsp

Chili powder - 1 tsp

Garlic powder - 1 tsp

Salt - 1/2 tsp 

Pepper - 1/2 tsp 

Lemon juice - 1 whole lemon

Avocado oil - 2 tbsp
Burger buns - 2, whole wheat

In a blender, food processor, or mixing bowl (if you’d like it chunkier), combine black beans, oats, flax, cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and juice from one lemon.  If using blender/food processor, puree until desired texture is attained.  If using mixing bowl, mash together using fork, potato masher, or hand/stand mixer (for best results).  Form into two patties.  Heat up 1 tbsp avocado oil in non-stick skillet over medium heat.  Add patties and cook 5-7 minutes per side. Add the other tbsp of oil before turning.  Serve on toasted bun with cheese, ketchup, and mustard if desired.  Great with side salad.
